Are We There Yet?
At weddings, in the U.S., we exchange rings, light candles and throw rice. In Ireland, they tie a knot around the clasped hands of the bride and groom. At Jewish weddings, the happy couple crushes a wine glass and everyone shouts, “Mazel Tov!” In certain parts of China, the new husband carries his bride across a bed of hot coals. No matter where you’re from, people come up with some strange rituals to mark important occasions. But the one in Genesis 15 may be the weirdest thing you’ve ever heard of.
Baby Sunday / Little Faith
There is an iffiness about faith for most of us. A certain . . . uncertainty. We believe the promises of God, but life keeps offering evidence to the contrary. When we struggle with doubt, does God get angry? Give up on us? Or give us what we need to stay on the journey?
Alterations
Americans spend millions on self help books, seminars, weight loss programs, gym memberships and counselors. All because we want to be better. Oh, and we go to church a lot too. What if we are going about it all wrong?
Anatomy of a Detour
Anxiety and hope see the same situation. The difference is that anxiety anticipates danger. Hope anticipates deliverance.
Step One
They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. What they didn’t tell you, though, is that step one is often the hardest. In Genesis 12, Abraham takes that first step. God makes a promise and Abraham believes it. Every other plodding foot fall in the journey depends on believing that God keeps his promises. In a world of broken contracts and empty assurances, that kind of faith can be hard to come by. Maybe that’s why God sealed this contract with his own blood.
To Settle or Set Out
You’d think words like unprecedented, revolutionary, and nextgen would apply to some new technology or novel social arrangement. And you’d be right. Except the high-tech application and never-before-tried cultural development we’re talking about happened thousands of years ago. The story is in Genesis 11. And you’ll be surprised by how familiar it feels.
Christmas Service
We recounted in scripture and song the greatest story ever told. From prophesy to his birth, his teaching and his suffering, his resurrection and his invitation to join him on the greatest journey ever taken.
O Come Let Us Adore Him
And a little child shall lead them. That’s what will happen this Sunday as the Twickenham Kids lead us through the story of Jesus. The exciting part is that you never know what’s going to happen when a group of children take the stage. Don’t miss it!
Unexpected Arrival
Even if he had come two thousand years later, one this is certain: He would have come in an unexpected way. He still does. We worship a God who defies expectation. He cannot be locked up tight in a system of science or theology. He will not be chained by tradition or convention. He routinely surprises us with his presence in the very places and at the exact times we least expect to find him.

Why Our Members Chose Twickenham

As someone who has been a member of Twickenham since the beginning, there is no place that I would rather be. I appreciate that we have an eldership that bases decisions on biblical principles rather than tradition. There is a broad spectrum of people who come from different backgrounds than those of us who were raised in the church of Christ and I feel that it has been beneficial. I like that Twickenham has been a part of the community instead of isolating ourselves from other denominations.

The many ministry opportunities that members can find to participate in. The uplifting worship services; the praise team is wonderful! The children's programs. I love that we have young families as well as older members worshipping together!

. . . this church has been a HUGE blessing to our family. When we came to Twickenham, I felt like we were spiritually dying on the vine. Since coming to Twickenham, God has had us on an amazing journey that is sometimes hard and sometimes beautiful - but either way I know we are both diving deeper into Him! Yay!
