Even If

Would you hold onto your convictions, stand your ground and refuse to compromise even if God did NOT deliver you? That’s what the heroes in this story did. That’s what we can do, too – if we know what they knew. Join us.

It Can Happen To You
You may not have heard of George Santayana, but you’ve heard his most famous quote: “Those who do not remember history are condemned to repeat it.” That could be the subtitle for the Book of Daniel. It’s almost like the characters in the story are stuck in an ancient version of the movie Groundhog Day. Maybe it’s not a failure to remember history that condemns us – maybe it’s a failure to learn from it. That’s what this week’s episode of Even If is about.
The Humbled King
Do you ever get those annoying holiday newsletters from people who seem to live insanely successful lives? They are thriving professionally, their kids are winning all kinds of awards and they can’t wait to see what the new year will bring. Daniel chapter four kind of begins that way. But then things real.
Courage Under Fire
So we’re in Daniel chapter 3 in this installment of the new series, Even If. It’s not really all that relevant, to be honest. It’s about an emotionally unstable leader who makes rash decisions and unreasonable demands. And a statue that some find offensive. And three guys who refuse to honor a symbol of national pride when the band starts playing the music. Oh. Wait. That sounds pretty relevant.
Meet The New Boss
The most powerful man in the world has had a dream that keeps him up at night. If you can’t tell him what it means, he’s going to execute you. Here’s the hard part – to be sure you aren’t just telling him what he wants to hear, he orders you to first tell him what he dreamed. Sound like an impossible mission? It was. Except for one thing.
And the Lord Delivered
Remember that scene in the first Star Wars movie (episode IV, A New Hope) where Obi-Wan Kenobi lets Darth Vader win? Or when Loki permits himself to be captured by Iron Man and Captain America in The Avengers? Something like that happens in the book of Daniel. Except it’s God who willingly embraces defeat. Makes you wonder what He’s trying to teach us.

Why Our Members Chose Twickenham

This church is a positive, progressive body of believers who accept the normal diversity which exists in any church without trying to force some conformity and/or uniformity of belief or practices based on tradition, opinions, and preferences. Sadly, that is not the norm and thus you may be viewed as "different" by other churches or believers. I view such a difference as a great positive.

The diversity of thought that allows for tolerance of opinion with agreement on the basics of the gospel. The number of missions-minded individuals that are in involved in both foreign and domestic/local ministries.

This church has a large number of very talented members who appear to be highly involved and connected to all aspects of the church body. This church is at a prime location with many talented members and great opportunity to serve this community and beyond.
